Welcome to Class 2B

In 2B, we are taught by Mrs Broughton and supported by Mrs Grant.

In Year 2 we are striving to become independent learners who use a resilient, “can-do” attitude to all learning tasks. We practise and build upon the skills and knowledge we have developed in Year 1 to make progress in all areas of our development.

Becoming a fluent and accurate reader is one of our main aims for the end of KS1. We aim to achieve this by continuing our phonics and spelling work daily, alongside delivering whole-class reading lessons and supporting small groups with reading practice. The best way to support your child in making successful reading progress is to listen to them read their ability-matched reading book as often as possible.

We like to use Class Dojo to keep parents informed about any valuable information and to share the exciting things we get up to in 2B! Every Friday, we share completed homework tasks with the class and celebrate our fantastic achievements.
