Welcome to Class 2B

In 2B, we are taught by Mrs Broadbent and supported by Mrs Lester. On a Wednesday afternoon Miss Quinn delivers our Religious Education and Happy Minds input. We begin each day by strengthening our literacy skills with whole class reading, spelling input and Talk for Writing. Each week children receive a library book with the option to change this additionally from a library box and if they receive Rapid Catch-Up support, they will also have a relevant guided reading book. Spellings are provided in homework books which should be kept inside of book bags.

In Year 2 we are striving to become independent learners who use a resilient, “can-do” attitude to have a go at all our learning tasks using the skills we have developed in Early Years and Year 1. Children support their peers by sharing their understanding of tasks with others being a supportive teacher as well as sharing examples of their work.

Our P.E. day is on a Wednesday – for this, all children need a kit in school and earrings removed. However, other events do arise such as after school clubs, so please ensure kits are in school Monday to Friday.

We like to use Class Dojo to keep families informed about any important information and share the things which happen in 2B. Families are also encouraged to post pictures into the children’s portfolios so that we can share and celebrate events and learning that happen at home.
